Anyone else with the new windows 7 have a problem getting in to wordsteal? I'm on my old xp right now. Have tried everything I can think of to get it. I'm sure it has to do with Java, but nothing works. Can't find a way to remove the check mark under plug-ins. Any ideas will be appreciated. |

it is not a problem of windows 7, its a problem with the new firefox,
I have posted on the facebooksite *wordoxers of the world unite*
and i have got an answer:
Christiana Sommerwind : some people have problems with wordsteal and firefox (black screen) does someone know why?
Gary Franklin Not sure, but the Java console shows a "stack overflow error" (how ironic! ) using Firefox v3.6. It still works in an earlier version of Firefox (v3.57) that I have on another PC. It needs to be established if this is just a problem with FF v3.6. _________________ Christiana |

| Yes am having the same problem. You can uncheck the box by highlighting the line and pressing the space bar. This does seem to disable the newest version but it doesn't seem to ENABLE the old so the site still freezes and won't let Java load. When you go back in the check mark is there but I checked in the system registry and it does show as disabled. If I ever find a solution I'll be sure to let you know. |

Windows 7 doesn't seem to have any other verions of Java (at least mine) except for update 18. I went to java and downlaoded in their archives 6 update 7. I then uninstalled Java update 18. I went to Java and downloaded java update 18. Restarted computer. when I went in WAS able to untick box. It works. I am not a tech so not sure which of these steps were needed - sorry but try it - it did work! |
